GIVERNY, MY HOME VILLAGE
When I was a kid, I was already playing in Claude Monet’s water garden! The place was “ wild “ at the time: there were holes in the fence so we could sneak in… and play hide and seek in the bushes… until Mrs and Mr Van der Kemp arrived and brought back the gardens to life! I am very thankful to the Claude Monet Foundation and all the members that gave a second birth to this wonderful place!

MY FIRST STEP
At the beginning I took painful, endless and repetitive Chinese calligraphy courses given by my Chinese
Master. Then I started to paint flowers the very subtle “ Chinese painting -free style “ way
-under the critical eye of my Master!

A NEW STYLE: “à la Chinese on Rice Paper"©
Month after month, my inner and very personal style grew. The synergy between Chinese painting technique and the beauty of French landscapes
emerged. Laying out Chinese inks and watercolors on natural paper (made out of rice and
bamboo) with Chinese traditional brushes has become my “A la Chinese Style”!

COMMENTS of a
painter and a fan...
“Serenity and purity are coming out of her Chinese inks and turn into magic fish, flowers and
landscapes!”
“MIRAÏ has great talent. Her paintings are as transparent and poetic as her soul.
She has invented a style we will hear much about in future years.” J.MASSA
